Use cannabidiol for cellulite

access_time14. october 2019 personEditor Testovací

Our skin is a big and very important organ of the body. It also partially reflects our internal health. That is why the skin is also a topic that the developers of cannabidiol-containing products are concerned about. There are now plenty of CBD creams, ointments and lotions on the market for daily care, for speeding up the healing process of minor injuries or especially for various skin diseases. Of course you can also provide your skin with the helpful cannabinoid by applying the same CBD oil that you also take orally. The health benefits of CBD oil Cannabidiol is a natural and largely harmless substance derived from the cannabis plant. This is done by means of different extraction methods. The extract thus produced is added to a carrier oil, usually this is an olive or hemp seed oil. A good extract contains a complete extract of the active ingredients of the cannabis plant. Thus cannabidiol and the other cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes can exert all the positive effects on the endocannabinoid system and the whole body for which the plant has long been known: pain relief, reduction of depression and anxiety, protection of nerve cells and much more. In addition to the effects on the internal organs can also cure many skin complaints with CBD oils. What can CBD oil do for cellulite? Cannabidiol is an all-rounder for skin care and the treatment of skin diseases. It can be used against inflammation, itching or for wound healing. It should even support the positive course of treatment of skin cancer. The entourage effect, as the interaction of the cannabis active ingredients is called, is particularly noticeable in the application for the skin. CBD acts as an antioxidant for the skin, it binds free radicals, which promote skin aging, diseases and also cancer. For cellulite, another feature of CBD comes into play. Because it promotes blood flow in the vessels, the whole skin is better supplied with nutrients and pollutants removed. How best to use CBD for the skin? Whether you prefer to use a cannabidiol-containing care product or swears rather on the CBD oil, everyone must decide based on his experience and preferences. In general, the use of CBD oils on the skin also works very well, but this can be quite expensive when applied over a larger area of skin. Therefore, the topical use of a CBD oil is particularly suitable for the treatment of small wounds or irritated skin. For general care, CBD beauty products are best. The CBD oil does not have to be set aside for that. Because applied internally, so ingested, cannabidiol works everywhere in the body, thus in the skin cells.   Source:  GLASMANN, Dieter Klaus Glasmann. Nowadays, there are countless products that are supposed to boost the sex life and bring momentum back to the bedroom. From sex toys to slippery games to underwear, the industry delivers almost daily new ideas for more fun in bed. While such games can have a positive effect on sex life, couples usually have more profound problems as to why the fire is not burning as it used to.   Many problems with sexuality can be attributed to mental or physical causes, which in turn make sure that it does not go around properly in terms of sexuality. We do not feel fulfilled and that can nag your self-confidence.   Cannabidiol has many useful properties, and recent scientific research suggests that CBD may be an alternative treatment for problems with sexual performance, be it mental or physical.   How can CBD improve the sex life? Healthy sexuality is part of a healthy lifestyle and what could be better than expressing affection for one's partner with physical closeness. For some people, however, the thought of such intimate moments can lead to anxiety and panic.   Especially in the midst of romantic moments, it is possible that one is surprised by his feelings. Anxiety, physical insecurity or doubt can quickly turn such events into an unpleasant experience.   Although CBD appears like a newcomer in the wellness industry, there are already many studies that hint at the great potential of cannabidiol to relieve anxiety. So why could not cannabinoid help with anxiety management in the bedroom?   Erectile dysfunction Erectile dysfunction is a sexual disorder affecting millions of men in German-speaking countries. Women can suffer as well. Central to the onset of erectile dysfunction is the fear of sexual failure. At this point, the therapeutic potential of CBD comes into play. With its stress-relieving and relaxing effects, CBD could take away such worries and provide more relaxation.   CBD against inflammation Cannabidiol has an anti-inflammatory potential and experts consider inflammation as a reason for decreased sex drive. In response to an inflammation, our immune system responds with white blood cells that attack the inflamed areas in our body to clear ship again.   Not only do people with chronic inflammation often suffer from pain, they also struggle with circulatory problems. Especially for men, this can be a real problem. Circulatory disorders can cause erectile dysfunction. Man can no longer maintain an erection properly - or it does not even get that far.   Due to the remarkable therapeutic properties of cannabidiol, cannabinoid may relieve the inflammation and pain that may be a potential cause of erectile dysfunction.   CBD for pain For many people, pain is a major reason why the desire for sex disappears - understandably. Quickly you are inclined to resort to conventional drugs that promise immediate relief. Unfortunately, many analgesics have a lot of side effects that can affect your libido.   There are scientific reports analyzing the use of CBD in chronic pain. It has been found that there is strong evidence to support the theory that cannabis (including CBD) is an effective treatment option for chronic adult pain. And thanks to the safe use of cannabidiol, you do not have to worry about side effects affecting your sexual function.   Sex is all about relaxation and CBD has the potential to naturally reach that state. So far, no side effects are known in studies, there were only slight interactions with drugs. Although seemingly safe, the use of CBD for improved sexual function, when combined with other drugs, should be discussed with a physician.   Source:  BOEDEFELD, Christian. The anti-oxidative properties of CBD

access_time24. october 2019 personEditor Testovací

Many nutrition experts and counselors point out how important antioxidants are to our health and well-being. But what exactly is behind these substances? What qualities do they possess and how can our bodies benefit from them?   Simply put, antioxidants are substances that inhibit oxidation and reduce the associated so-called oxidative stress. During oxidation, waste products are formed in our body and free radicals are formed.   The body's own antioxidants, such as glutathione, are usually insufficient to prevent the production of free radicals. This is especially the case with increasing age, as the oxidative stress increases with increasing age. That is why it is important to supply the body with antioxidants from the diet.   Actually, oxygen is associated with life. That's true, of course, but in this case our body produces the already mentioned free radicals by oxidation of other substances (reaction with oxygen).   From them, a kind of chain reaction can occur in which molecules, cells or tissue can be damaged or irreparably destroyed. By reacting with them, antioxidants protect against free radicals.   CBD as an antioxidant For a long time, vitamins such as C and E were among the most powerful antioxidants. In terms of mode of action, cannabidiol does not really differ from an antioxidant. The chemical structure of the cannabinoid contains an oxygen atom that can be released to free radicals and thus neutralizes them. This free oxygen compound is responsible for the antioxidant effects of CBD.   Several studies even confirm that the cannabinoids THC and CBD have a significant neuroprotective effect as antioxidants, which is many times stronger than for vitamins C and E.   Conclusion Antioxidants are extremely important to our body. Without them, free radicals can cause immense damage. By providing oxygen atoms, antioxidants can neutralize the harmful compounds, making a vital contribution to our health.   In addition to vitamins C and E, cannabidiol has become a good source of antioxidants. Although more research is needed in this area, the results obtained to date are quite promising and provide insight into the antioxidant potential of CBD.   In addition, CBD could also keep neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's or Alzheimer's at bay. The potential of cannabinoid is huge. Unfortunately, it is difficult to make general statements and the effectiveness of CBD is best tested by yourself.   Every organism responds differently and should be slowly accustomed to using CBD as a nutritional supplement. Although no serious side effects of CBD are known, consult a doctor if you have any concerns about taking it.   Source:  BOEDEFELD, Christian. CBD against circulatory disorders

access_time24. october 2019 personEditor Testovací

A number of problems an organism can develop in the course of a lifetime are associated with impaired blood flow and inadequate oxygenation of body parts and organs. These include minor cramping of the muscles in the extremities as well as stroke, in which areas of the brain are underserved and long-term brain damage can remain.   Disturbed blood flow Blood flows through every part of our body, only dead cells such as hair and fingernails are not traversed by vessels that transport all imaginable nutrients to the smallest angles. Since our diet and our lifestyle also pollutants, fats and the like can enter our bloodstream, the blood flow in many parts of the body can be disturbed by deposits. In addition, with aging, the flexibility of our veins subsides, but also environmental influences and harmful habits like smoking can constrict the vessels.   Small tingling and big risks Regardless of the causes of a circulatory disorder or where it is located, it is commonly referred to as ischemia (low blood flow). In the arms or legs show slight circulatory problems, in which the foot or leg begin to tingle, also cramps of the muscles are possible.   The death of parts of the body, for example the well-known smoker's leg, can also be the result of a circulatory disorder. In even worse cases, ischemia threatens the heart or brain, and can lead to strokes and heart attacks, and thus become life threatening.   Canes for ischemia? The fact that smoking is harmful, narrows the blood vessels and takes away their flexibility, many potheads regret, after all, it remains to this day, the most popular form of cannabis. On the other hand, the example of glaucoma, which is related to the intraocular pressure and blood flow of the eye, has long been proven that cannabis can improve hemodynamics, ie blood flow. Cannabidiol (CBD) has several effects on blood circulation.   Both the soothing, relaxing effect that lowers blood pressure and the vasodilation effect may be important here. In the genesis of ischemic strokes, remarkable results have already been achieved through the use of CBD. In admittedly unsightly tests on rats, CBD has been able to minimize brain damage by 17 percent.   CBD inhibits arteriosclerosis Arterial calcification and deposits in the blood vessels are one of the main causes of ischemic diseases. Here cannabidiol is medically particularly interesting. Research from Switzerland now assumes that CBD can slow down the progression of arteriosclerosis caused by high blood sugar levels.   This prevents ischemic diseases or influences existing ones positively. Since smoking cannabis (especially mixed with tobacco), even if it is a high CBD variety, is rather counterproductive, CBD oils and extracts, which are available as a dietary supplement, are suitable.   What to look for Of course, if you suffer from a serious circulatory disorder, going to the doctor is not only compulsory but also the only sensible thing to do. The risks are too big here to carry out self-experiments. But of course you can certainly discuss the use of CBD products with the doctor. When choosing the product one should always keep in mind the entourage effect, according to which the effects of cannabinoids and terpenes favor and enhance one another.   This also makes sense for ischemic symptoms, as the cannabinoid cannabigerol (CBG), for example, has an effect on blood pressure. It is therefore advisable to always use CBD products with the full spectrum of cannabis, ie full-spectrum CBD oils or full extracts. Manufacturers who work with rich raw materials and deliver quality will surely mark this on their labels. If only CBD is indicated on the packaging of an oil, and the oil may still be colorless, it can not necessarily be assumed that it contains an extract of all the active ingredients of the hemp plant.   Source:  KLAUS GLASMANN, Dieter. CBD as antibiotic - does cannabidiol help against bacterial infections?

access_time24. october 2019 personEditor Testovací

inflammation or respiratory tract infection - almost every patient had to take antibiotics once in a lifetime to get rid of the condition. However, with growing coverage of resistant bacteria, fewer and fewer people trust the chemical drugs without reservation; many are looking for alternatives. If natural products such as e.g. CBD oil actually help here?   What causes an antibiotic? The term antibiotics is composed of the Greek terms "anti" and "bios" and means something like: against life. Originally it referred to as bacteria-expelled metabolites that inhibit the growth of other microorganisms in their environment. In modern medicine, all partially and fully synthetic substances that kill bacteria and inhibit their multiplication as an antibiotic apply.   Problems with antibiotics - do natural ingredients have benefits? The biggest problem with using synthetic antibiotics is that certain strains of bacteria become insensitive to them over time and a drug loses its effect. Not only the frequent prescription of antibiotics promotes the resistance, but also their industrial use. In the animal fattening producers want to prevent infectious diseases by large-scale Antibiotikagaben, but thereby risk residues in their products. These in turn can lead to the formation of resistant bacterial strains in the consumer.   Researchers are increasingly testing natural antibacterial substances such as oregano oil, garlic extracts or honey as part of their search for drug candidates for resistant bacteria. Here is the thesis that natural substances are too complex for bacteria to resist. In the course of this, CBD will also be interesting for research:   Does CBD have antibiotic properties? Researchers already demonstrated that cannabidiol has an antibacterial effect on streptococci and staphylococci in the 1970s. [1] At that time it was concluded from the results that this effect applies only to gram-positive bacteria, whereas gram-negative bacteria are resistant to CBD.   Other data was presented by the research team led by Mark Blaskovich at this year's American Society for Microbiology conference, ASM Microbe in San Francisco. According to Blaskovich, the previously unpublished study shows how CBD eliminated bacterial strains that are already resistant to common antibiotics. In addition, no resistance to cannabidiol developed in the bacteria even after exposure to the cannabinoid for about 20 days. According to the scientists, CBD demonstrated efficacy against MRSA, the methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, which is responsible for serious hospital infections.   Lead chemist Mark Blaskovich, in an interview with Newsweek, explained the current state of knowledge on CBD as an antibiotic: "We do not yet know how it works, but it could have a unique mechanism if confirmed to work against antibiotic-resistant bacteria."   Can CBD increase the effects of antibiotics? In a study published in 2019, researchers demonstrated in a study published in 2019 how CBD could influence resistant bacteria: experts call materials that release bacteria via their outer sheath as outer membrane vesicles. They primarily serve the communication of the bacteria with each other, but also the exchange of DNA, the formation of a biofilm and the release of defense enzymes against immune cells. Cannabidiol can effectively inhibit these membrane vesicles, particularly in the bacterium E. coli. As a result, various antibiotics in combination with CBD were more effective against certain Gram-negative bacteria. According to the authors, CBD may help reduce resistance to antibiotics.    Source:  CBD als Antibiotikum – hilft Cannabidiol gegen bakterielle Infektionen? 1 [online]. 23 Oct, 2018. CBD gegen Hautkrankheiten - nÃttzt Cannabidiol der Hautgesundheit?

access_time24. october 2019 personEditor Testovací

CBD and skin diseases: Does cannabidiol help with atopic dermatitis? Atopic dermatitis is considered a particularly onerous skin disease, as it often occurs already in infancy. The face and scalp of the baby are already covered shortly after birth with the characteristic milk scab; on the insides of knees and elbows arise so-called flexion eczema. The scaly and weeping eczema on the skin is accompanied by tormenting itching, which robs those affected of their sleep and makes any skin contact - even wearing clothes - painful. In adults, the symptoms usually culminate in spurts, the triggers of which are often not clearly identified.   Atopic dermatitis flare-ups occur when the affected immune system over-reacts to internal or external irritants. The triggers can be both specific foods and stressful situations. The idea of using cannabidiol for the treatment of atopic dermatitis is obvious because the nerve fibers of the skin possess cannabinoid receptors and endocannabinoids have been shown to be involved in the regulation of the immune system.   Cannabinoid ointment relieves eczema symptoms The first attempt to treat atopic dermatitis patients with cannabinoids was undertaken by Munich scientists in 2008. They administered 2456 participants a skin cream with the cannabinoid N-palmitoylethanolamine (PEA). As a result, 60 percent of the subjects were able to reduce itching, redness, and flaking areas of the skin. More than half of the atopic dermatitis patients were also able to do without cortisone medication.    ObCBD as cannabinoid could achieve comparable effects in people with neurodermatitis, has not yet been investigated in clinical trials. Its anti-inflammatory effect, which can suppress excessive immune system responses, has been confirmed in animal studies. On the basis of previous findings, scientists call CBD and cannabidiol containing preparations as a possible future remedy for skin diseases such as eczema, but also acne, contact allergies, psoriasis and itching.    CBD for common skin diseases: Does cannabidiol have an effect on acne? To call acne a skin disease, many people consider exaggerated. In fact, statistically, around 75 to 90 percent of teenagers worldwide suffer from acne-like skin changes. In about 10 percent of those affected, however, this symptom persists in adulthood and causes physical and mental discomfort. In the process, acne does not result from unhealthy diets or poor hygiene - in fact, the pimples and pustules are the result of dysregulation of certain skin cells: both the sebaceous glands and the horn-forming cells appear overactive here. While sebum is increasingly produced, the horny cells close the exits of the sebaceous follicles. The skin fat does not drain, but offers bacteria such as the Propionibacterium acnes a breeding ground and it comes to inflammation.   CBD regulates the activity of certain skin cells At least, laboratory tests suggest that CBD, through the activation of the type 4 vanilloid receptor, reduces both the productivity of the sebaceous cells, as well as the horn-forming activity through other mechanisms Cells (keratinocytes) inhibits. Both effects could have a positive effect on the symptoms of acne. Also in psoriasis, which is also characterized by an overactivity of the horn-forming cells, the regulative action of CBD could possibly be beneficial. However, clinical studies that would confirm a positive effect on acne or psoriasis are still missing at this time.   Cannabidiol for severe skin diseases However, concrete case reports on the effect of CBD on skin diseases are available elsewhere: Epidermolysis bullosa is a serious inherited skin disease that can even lead to death. Those affected suffer from painful wounds, scars and adhesions that limit the range of motion. The symptom picture is sometimes called "butterfly skin" because the epidermis of the patient seems to be as sensitive as the wing of a butterfly.   Could CBD be useful here? An indication can be found in the medical literature. Here is the report of 3 epidermolysis bullosa patients who used CBD oil on the skin. All reported better wound healing, less blistering, and reduced pain from the therapy. One of the patients was even able to do without the opioid painkillers he usually took for the symptoms.    CBD on the skin - does it work in the entire organism? If you use CBD oil or cream, you should be aware that the ingredients are not only local, but also absorbed into the bloodstream. Cannabidiol even reaches the blood 10 times more effectively via the so-called transdermal passage than the psychoactive ingredient THC.    CBD oil or cream - what is best for the application on the skin? While CBD oil is dripped under the tongue, taking cannabidiol through the oral mucosa into the bloodstream, CBD cream and CBD balm develop their effect directly on the skin. Quality products are characterized by the fact that they are based on a full-spectrum extract. In addition to CBD, this contains other cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes, and in this way favors the so-called Entourage effect. Scientists assume that different cannabinoids increase each other's beneficial effects.   High-quality CBD creams also contain no artificial preservatives, dyes and fragrances. Only vitamin E, which acts as an effective antioxidant, prevents the cream from spoiling on contact with oxygen. Natural oils and vegetable fats such as shea butter or mango butter additionally help the skin to retain its own moisture and make it supple.   Source:  CBD gegen Hautkrankheiten – nützt Cannabidiol der Hautgesundheit? 1 [online]. 21 Aug,2019, Dostupné z: https://fivebloom.de/blogs/cbd-news/cbd-gegen-hautkrankheiten   source photo: https://pixabay.com/cs/

How does CBD affect the irritable bowel?

access_time24. october 2019 personEditor Testovací

The so-called irritable bowel syndrome (RDS) is actually no exact name of a specific disease. Rather, this term collects a number of inflammatory bowel diseases of different causes and manifestations.   There are variants such as Crohn's disease, which actually go beyond the symptoms of RDS, because in Crohn's disease, the small intestine is affected, while the classic RDS occurs only in the colon. Nearly half of all cases in which a patient is referred to the gastroenterologist (gastrointestinal specialist) are related to the widespread disease.   How is the irritable bowel syndrome diagnosed? Unequivocally diagnosing irritable bowel syndrome is a complicated affair. Often the symptoms can also be associated with other diseases, therefore, confusion often happen. This can often be avoided by having a good and detailed history that the doctor should really take time to do. It includes information about the period of the disease, About changes in the toilet habits and the like, which can lead the doctor on the right track. If the suspected diagnosis is in the first place, various blood tests, colonoscopy and other imaging techniques, as well as the examination of a stool sample are necessary to ensure a reliable diagnosis.   How is irritable bowel syndrome treated? Since the irritable bowel is a widespread widespread disease, there are a lot of funds available, with which one can provide relief. For mild symptoms, a diet that dispenses with a range of short-chain carbohydrates and polyhydric alcohols can help. Depending on whether the condition is more likely to be constipated or diarrhea, a laxative or anti-drainage drug may be administered. In general, the increased intake of fiber is recommended. Psyllium husks and barley have proven to be particularly useful. Camomile, myrrh and coffee charcoal are also considered to be very effective in relieving symptoms. To restore a healthy intestinal flora, the use of so-called probiotics (bacterial strains) was helpful.   Although the pharmaceutical industry has also developed some products for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome, these are often associated with side effects that do not justify their use for many people. The natural alternatives are clearly to be preferred here.   What Can CBD Do For Irritable Bowel Syndrome? In 2004, the neurologist and former president of the International Association for Cannabis as Medicine, Ethan Russo, linked irritable bowel syndrome to the endocannabinoid system or deficits in a publication. Russo points to studies showing that malfunctions in the endocannabinoid system can cause inflammatory bowel disease. Consequently, cannabis can effectively remedy this situation. At first, it was claimed that cannabidiol (CBD) alone was not enough, but THC was also needed. This claim has since been revised, and it has been found that CBD is an important agent in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, which can both fight inflammation and regulate the function of glial cells (cells in the nervous tissue, but which are not neurons) , The immunomodulatory properties of CBD have been shown to positively affect disease progression and symptoms in studies. CBD can be of great help even in the severe Crohn's disease, and most recent research has yielded very promising results, making CBD a real hope for many gastrointestinal patients.   Source:  GLASMANN, Dieter Klaus. Is CBD suitable for children?

access_time24. october 2019 personEditor Testovací

Cannabis contains many pharmacologically interesting properties, which are primarily responsible for two groups of substances, cannabinoids and terpenes. Among the cannabinoids, Δ9-trans-tetrahydrocannabinol, THC for short, has been of particular interest over the last decades, especially in the area of consumption.   Only a few years ago, a second cannabinoid has been recognized by science and the public, making it the most interesting agent of hemp for many people today, especially for those who do not want it intoxicating. Of course we are talking about cannabidiol (CBD), a molecular compound that can have a lot of medicinal functions without the psychoactive effects that THC has.   Cannabidiol is harmless and healthy at the same time Since CBD has proven to be very useful and harmless, legal cannabinoid has made it into a variety of health-promoting agents for external and internal use. Whether for consumption in food or dietary supplements, or even applied to the skin by ointments, tinctures or creams, CBD has become the trend of the health and wellness industry. In addition, it remains interesting for medical research and practice. Epilepsy, sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD and many other diseases can be treated successfully with cannabidiol.   The contradictory treatment of CBD Some of the conditions for which CBD promises relief, such as epilepsy and ADHD, affect children in particular. Entering specialty stores whose product ranges are CBD cannabis products, however, may generally be entered only from the age of 18 years.   Thus, it is quite understandable that some people are unsure about whether CBD can cause harm to children. If it is not psychoactive and harmless, can it then be administered to a child on a private basis, so that it also benefits from the health benefits?   Do you have to hide your CBD products from your children, or can you keep them accessible to them? How compatible is the safety of cannabidiol with the age restrictions that CBD shops are subject to?   Cannabidiol in public and legal perception To understand these circumstances, one has to take a closer look at several factors. The legal situation that exists for CBD is due to the fact that cannabidiol is still an active ingredient derived from cannabis. This and the THC content which is often present in CBD products, even if in very low concentrations, justify the age restrictions for CBD shops. Of course, the fact that they mostly sell smokers and smokers in addition to CBD oils and Co. is also a good reason not to let minors into the shops.   Thus, the legal position for CBD could change in parts insofar as an assortment includes only products with no THC content and no goods associated with smoking or other non-intoxicating cannabis applications. Health food stores or pharmacies offering hemp products are not subject to such age restrictions. It is therefore also a question of the milieu, with which the CBD products surround themselves, whether they are perceived as health-promoting or as questionable.   Safety of CBD is confirmed by WHO After intensive research into the substance, the World Health Organization WHO has declared Cannabidiol safe to use. No adverse health effects or risks associated with the use of CBD could be identified during the studies carried out by the WHO itself.   This means in plain language that you could not prove any side effects or the like. This makes CBD safer than most drugs that are available in the pharmacy over the counter. So who would give his child an ibuprofen in pain or aspirin, which should also be able to safely administer CBD, if the child has a condition that can be positively influenced by CBD.   Is CBD suitable for children only as a remedy or as a nutritional supplement? The fact that CBD can help children suffering from epilepsy, for example, or other serious ailments has been proven by numerous studies and is now also relatively well-known through reports that have become public. However, many people may believe that they need to keep their CBD products away from their children. This is not the case, because CBD is also excellent for children for general health promotion. For example, if children are sleeping badly, or are suffering from anxiety, or are generally tormented by restlessness, cannabidiol can help them relax and sleep well.   Even in children diagnosed with ADHD, CBD can be used effectively to prevent treatment with Ritalin. CBD can easily be integrated into a child's everyday life without the impression of medication. Many of the very natural products can be used to prepare drinks and food.   Source:  GLASMANN, Dieter Klaus. Hemp protein for muscle growth - what are the benefits?

access_time24. october 2019 personEditor Testovací

Children in growth, strength athletes and seniors - for some people, proteins in the diet are particularly important. An increased need supports those affected best with protein powder. But instead of powder from animal raw materials, herbal products can provide the desired nutrients. Hemp protein is currently very much in vogue here. What are its advantages, you will learn in the following:   Who needs extra proteins at all? Proteins are the building materials of our body and, above all, form our muscles. No wonder then that strength athletes and bodybuilders have an increased need. While an unsportsmanlike person manages with about one gram of protein per kilogram of body weight every day, the human powerhouses need about 1.8 to 2.2 grams of protein per kilogram. To meet this amount, a 90-pound bodybuilder would have to eat 800g of beef steak a day. On the other hand, the increased protein intake works lighter and healthier with protein powders from whey, soy and hemp.   What's so special about hemp protein? About 100 years ago, the German nutritionist Karl Thomas developed the model of the biological value of protein. It generally ranked animal foods higher than herbal foods and stuck in the minds of consumers for a long time. Today researchers know that this equation does not correspond to reality. The WHO is using the amino acid index (PDCAAS), currently a completely revised scale, which shows that plants such as soy exceed beef in their biological value for the human body. But also hemp has a comparable protein quality as soy. In particular, the following amino acids contain hemp seeds in a high proportion: isoleucine leucine lysine methionine phenylalanine threonine tryptophan valine Hemp or soy - what makes the difference? Even in the body-building scene you can find the trend towards a vegan diet. Not surprisingly, considering how much cholesterol and fat it brings with it to try to meet high protein requirements with animal products. Not to mention dubious housing conditions.   Therefore, strength athletes like to choose soy products as a vegan protein powder variant. But this raw material has its own disadvantages. Since today's soybean varieties are optimized for beef and pork fattening, it has often been genetically modified. In addition, soybean cultivation is ecologically dubious if it falls victim to huge rainforest areas in South America.   Which ingredients are still in hemp protein? Although the hemp seeds are degreased for the production of hemp protein, the powder still contains about 10 percent fat. Hemp is particularly rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids such as omega-3 and omega-6. In addition, both fats are contained in hemp seeds in a particularly favorable ratio. Today, research knows that many inflammatory reactions in the body can be attributed to an overhang of omega-6 fats. It could thus be an essential risk factor for the development of cardiovascular diseases. In the western diet, we sometimes take in 15 to 20 times the amount of omega-6 fatty acids compared to omega-3 fatty acids. On the other hand, a ratio of 5: 1 is recommended. Hemp seeds are even slightly lower with a ratio of 3: 1 and help to compensate for nutritional errors.   Which dose is recommended? As already recommended: If you practice weight lifting intensively, you should consume 1.8 g of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. And not just on training days. Ideally, you use a nutrition calculator to calculate how much protein your daily meals will provide. What is missing then, you can balance with hemp protein powder. The powder tastes best with its nutty and earthy flavor in smoothies, shakes and cereals.   What do I have to look for when shopping? You should buy hemp protein only in organic quality and pay attention to a certified cultivation and regular pollutant examinations. Since hemp protein contains around 10 percent fat, you should store the powder in the refrigerator after it has opened so that it does not turn rancid.   Source:  GLASMANN, Dieter Klaus.
